Nick Després Photography
Nick's History
Nick Després F.R.P.S. is an accomplished photographer with an extraordinary list of accolades. His work is internationally renowned and encompasses a wide spectrum, this not only revolves around his love of the natural world and the great outdoors, but also encompasses weddings and other people orientated images.

A Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, Nick also proudly serves on one of the Society´s Distinction Panels. Nick´s Fellowship was gained back in 1993 with a panel of seascapes, predominantly taken on Guernsey´s coastlines, his native island. In fact Nick can claim to be one of the pioneers in the technique of long exposures in the landscape. Even though his Fellowship was gained with colour work, Nick has also attained the highest levels with his monochrome photography. This is illustrated with the award of Ilford/AP Printer of the Year in 2000, with his winning black and white portfolio exhibited in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Even though he does now shoot digitally for most assignments, Nick still hand-crafts black and white prints in a traditional darkroom.

To further demonstrate the depth of his photography, Nick has won numerous awards at international level, including a category win in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year and the Photographic Society of America Photo-Journalist of the Year, as well as many medals in exhibitions.
